What you’ll find on this site…

Obviously, as a modern-day writer and thus part-time promoter, my top priority on this platform is getting the word out about my creative projects. Unfortunately, I’ve never been the “stay in your lane” type, so I’ve got other outlets that need exploring too! These blog posts may sometimes be about my novels and poems, but you’re more likely to find academic-adjacent musings about literature or wildly unhinged commentary on some of my tangential interests.

Why I became a writer…

I started writing poetry in middle school, when we were studying poetic forms for an English assignment. Fun Fact: My mother has a handwritten copy of the first poem I ever wrote hidden inside a decorative clock in her house. Once I started writing poems, I just couldn’t stop. My fiction journey began with Twilight fanfiction, which spiraled into several self-insert stories involving various celebrities before evolving into what is now my unique voice. Fun Fact: My first short story was about a newly-turned vampire who drank the blood of other vampires to survive. Even in college, I straddled the line between fiction and poetry, studying both because I couldn’t give up either. I got into romance a little later, and the genre as a whole still fascinates me. Fun Fact: I’d love to teach a course on sexual literacy using Fifty Shades of Grey as a case study.
